    An evening dedicated to those who are now walking through a cancer diagnosis or suffering from a rare disease. We will honor many children and families while learning about the most important advances in cancer and rare diseases through genomic tissue sampling.

    Dr. Jay Storm, Chief of Neurosurgery at Children's Hospital Philadelphia, and Adam Resnick, PhD, Research Scientist in the Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics at CHOP will speak about the important work and impact of the CBTTC.

    The Children's Brain Tumor Tissue Consortium is a collaborative, multi-institutional research program dedicated to the study and treatment of childhood brain tumors. The CBTTC has developed a network of informatics and data applications which allow researchers from across the world to work together to discover cures for all cancers and rare diseases.

    The Head for the Cure Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness and funding for research in the fight against brain cancer. Head for the Cure works to inspire hope for the community of brain cancer patients, their families, friends, caregivers and other supporters, while celebrating their courage, spirit and energy.

    Head for the Cure events mark a day of celebration where those diagnosed with brain cancer are honored and celebrated by their friends and families, those who have lost their battles are remembered, and we carry on the fight. We are defeating brain cancer, step by step

  • 6th Annual Bob Bard 5k/10k

    Join us for the 6th Annual Bob Bard 5K/10K on Saturday, June 17th, 2017. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the National Brain Tumor Society and the Dragon Master Foundation to help find better treatments, and ultimately a cure, for brain tumors. With a choice between a 5K or 10K route, this professionally timed racecourse is a beautiful walk/run through the rolling hills of Amish Country, and is perfect whether you are a competitive runner or leisurely walker. This event will be held rain or shine.

    Refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of the race. Awards will be presented to the top male and female runners. We also award the top individual fundraiser, top team fundraiser, and most spirited team. Fundraising award submission deadline is 12PM (noon) on Friday, June 16th. All Kids Fun Run participants will receive a medal. T-shirts are guaranteed to all participants registered by the early-bird deadline of Sunday, May 28th. T-shirts are first come, first serve after that date. Parking is free of charge and is conveniently located close to the start/finish line. Indoor bathrooms are available. Please note that dogs are not allowed on the course.

    Join us in Orlando Florida! Our team's theme for this race is based on Alice in Wonderland. We're wishing a Very Merry Unbirthday to everyone with cancer! (If you aren't familiar with the concept, it's simple: you only have one birthday a year, but you have 364 UNbirthdays! So celebrate!!)

    Kids who die from cancer are estimated to lose 77 years of life. Do you think that is unacceptable? Then let's do something about it! We will celebrate each day with them until we can find a cure!

    We have spots available for the Disney® Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend presented by MISFIT™, and you can join us for the 5K, 10K or Half Marathon! We want to bring "a whole new world" of research to cancer researchers, and your donations can make that happen! So please join Team Fired Up or sponsor a runner and let's build this magic place where cures can be found!

    Runners participating in the 5K commit to raising $550*, 10K runners commit to raising $650*, and half marathon runners commit to raising $800* for research.
    As part Team Fired Up, you will receive**:

    One registration in the Disneyland® race that they choose (Runners must register at the link above.)- All the benefits provided by runDisney, including a run shirt, finisher's medal, and Disney race bib- Team Fired Up Welcome Pack including a Dragon Master tech t-shirt- Access to our private Facebook group where you can meet and interact with our support team and other race participants.     Starting a fundraiser is easy to do, and it's fun. We'll even give you all the tools you'll need to make a difference. With your help we can ensure faster access to research data which will lead to more personalized treatments for cancer.

    *Runners may fundraise those amounts or choose to donate that amount themselves. The full minimum fundraising amount is due approximately 1 month prior to the race date so we can finalize all plans. Runners may set up a recurring monthly donation to help meet their commitment on time.
