Matching Grant Challenge

June 19, 2018

Dragon Master Foundation has joined forces with The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, Swifty Foundation, The Kortney Rose Foundation and hiker Eric Montgomery to raise money for a groundbreaking cancer research project. 100% of proceeds will be invested in Project Open DIPG, which serves as a model for research on all pediatric brain tumors.

You may have seen us posting about Eric’s progress as he traverses from Mexico to Canada along the Pacific Crest Trail to raise money and awareness for pediatric brain cancer. We’re trying to match Eric steps with donations - 4¢ per step to be exact. That is the amount from each government dollar that currently goes to research for all the different pediatric cancer types.

Swifty Foundation has challenged us to match the $50,000 they’ve raised in the #hike4pennies. Join us to meet the challenge! There are three ways to get involved:

  • Host a Facebook Fundraiser: Rallying your friends and family has never been easier, PLUS Facebook now waives donation fees for nonprofits! Visit www.facebook.com/fundraisers; select Dragon Master Foundation as the nonprofit you're fundraising for; and include "Four Pennies" in your fundraiser title.
  • Put a #Hike4Pennies jar out at your office and challenge co-workers to donate their pocket change for a week - or a month! This is also a great challenge for kids to help with at school or with their sports team.
  • Donate Online: Donate to one of the nonprofit partners' Four Pennies efforts at https://www.dragonmasterfoundation.org/four-pennies/

Why you should support Dragon Master Foundation

  • We support open data - lots of users mean more chances for treatment and cure discoveries.
  • We give researchers better data and a place to use it.
  • We give families hope that cures can come in time for their loved one.
